Message from Chairman

In September 2008, the financial tsunami swept the world. As an international financial center, Hong Kong was of course not spared in the tsunami. With the impact of the financial tsunami, many employees have faced the pressure of layoffs, pay cuts or taking no-pay leave. On the other hand, employers have faced difficult situations on their businesses. In the haze of the financial tsunami, Hong Kong is full of negative emotions. This kind of negative emotions is not conducive to the social harmony and progress in terms of the macroscopic view; whereas microscopically speaking is harmful to the health of the public.

As a result, Professional and Social Services Association was established in January 2009, helping people in need in terms of providing methods of alleviating anxiety and pressure, strengthening their knowledge and skills in employment, vocational re-training and placement referrals, etc. in order to assist the recipients facing the future with a positive attitude. In the long run, it adds vitality and power to the sustainable development of Hong Kong.

Despite our services in Hong Kong, we are equally concerned about the needs of our compatriots in the motherland. In the Sichuan post-earthquake reconstruction project, one of the highlights is the spiritual recovery work, in particular the healthy growth of the spiritual aspect of school children. The association will arrange medical personnel to post-quake areas in Sichuan to communicate with local health care units. Trainings on post-disaster counseling skills will also be given to teachers in the affected areas to help post-disaster children a healthy mental development.
